When we think about weddings at The Arnold House, we picture warmth, laughter, and love filling the space while snow quietly falls outside. Julie and Justin’s day was exactly that, a winter wedding wrapped in rustic charm, cozy details, and plenty of personal touches that made the celebration feel like them from start to finish.
Their story began with a first date at a bowling alley, a simple and fun night that set the stage for everything to come. Over time, their favorite dates became motorcycle rides for food and beer (Rutt’s Hut is their spot). They brought that same easygoing energy to their wedding. They wanted good music, laughter, and maybe even a little “bad” dancing (their words, not ours).
Julie and Justin trusted our team to lead the planning so they felt free to be present while every detail came together seamlessly.

The morning started with Julie, her bridesmaids, and her mom getting ready together. Julie wore a sleek, modern ivory gown with a fitted bodice and square neckline. It was simple yet striking, with a low scoop back and a row of buttons running down the train. Her veil was embroidered with delicate floral details, adding a touch of romance. On her feet, she wore ivory heels with double ankle straps, both stylish and practical for a winter day.
Her bouquet burst with garden-inspired color. Peach roses, blue delphinium, white anemones, yellow accents, and wild greenery came together in a design that felt both playful and elegant. Her loose curls, pinned half back, framed her face and showed off her tattoos (a detail that made her bridal look unmistakably her).
Meanwhile, Justin and his groomsmen got ready nearby. He wore a black tuxedo with satin lapels, a bow tie, and a crisp white shirt. His boutonnière echoed Julie’s bouquet with blue and white blooms. A brown leather-strapped watch gave his look a personal touch. The groomsmen matched in black suits and ties, keeping the group polished and timeless.
Julie’s bridesmaids wore long black gowns, each in a unique style. They carried smaller versions of Julie’s bouquet, tying the party together beautifully.
Once everyone was dressed, the excitement was hard to miss. It was time for Julie and Justin to see each other for the first time.
Under an arching canopy of greenery and twinkle lights at The Arnold House Greenhouse, Julie and Justin shared their first look. Their laughter was contagious, their smiles wide, and their embrace filled with joy. It was the perfect way to set the tone for the rest of the day.
Afterward, we helped organize portraits with the wedding party, family, and close friends. The lush greenhouse space, with its mix of wood, greenery, and string lights, made every photo feel timeless and warm.
Think it’s “bad luck” to see each other before the wedding? Spoiler: it’s not. See how couples are ditching old rules and making their own traditions here.
Guests were welcomed with a whimsical welcome sign that read, “Together Until We Croak – Julie & Justin,” with two illustrated frogs sipping drinks on mushrooms. It was quirky, fun, and very them. My team and I framed the sign with fresh flowers and greenery to tie it into the rest of the décor.
The ceremony space at The Arnold House looked like a garden brought indoors. Wooden ceilings and beams we hung with ferns, potted plants, and Edison bulbs created a cozy, warm vibe. Vibrant floral arrangements in yellows, peaches, blues, and whites lined the aisle. Wooden folding chairs added a rustic touch, while string lights glowed overhead.
When Julie walked down the aisle, all eyes were on her modern gown and radiant smile. With their families close, Julie and Justin exchanged vows in front of a backdrop bursting with colorful florals and greenery.
It was heartfelt, joyful, and exactly what they had envisioned: a celebration of love that felt organic and welcoming.
After the ceremony, guests headed to cocktail hour (and with Julie and Justin’s love of cocktails, this was an important part of the day). The Arnold House bar served two signature drinks, the “Double Bogey” and the “Kentucky Jules”. Both names were playful nods to their personalities, and both were a hit with guests.
Inside the cozy greenhouse lounge, we styled the space to feel cozy and inviting. Plaid poufs, modern seating, cowhide rugs, and plenty of greenery, creating a retreat-like atmosphere.
The stage was set for a night of dining and dancing.
Walking into the reception hall at The Arnold House felt like stepping into a rustic, glowing garden. The long wooden tables were styled with ivory runners. Each place setting had white plates with thin black rims, crisp napkins, and menus featuring The Arnold House logo. On the tables, we placed simple bud vases on wood slices held blooms of ranunculus, mums, roses, and lisianthus. Candles flickered in glass votives, casting a romantic glow across the room.
The sweetheart table stole the show. A custom wooden block engraved with “J & J, 04.12.25” anchored the design, with rows of bud vases inset into the stand. Blooms spilled across the table and floor, framed by larger floral arrangements and glowing candles. It was romantic, personal, and one-of-a-kind.
Dinner, prepared by The Arnold House, included seasonal dishes like flank steak, ricotta and spinach ravioli, coq au vin, potato au gratin, and roasted brussels sprouts. Dessert carried on the cozy theme — pies in flavors like strawberry rhubarb, peach, and pecan (because who doesn’t love pie at a winter wedding?).
The cake, made by Baked Narrowsburg, was a two-tiered rustic buttercream decorated with piped swirls. Topping it was a playful black dog figurine, a sweet nod to their pup, Charlie.
Later that night, Julie layered on a black leather jacket painted with floral details. It was an edgy twist that added even more personality to her bridal look. It was a striking contrast to her minimalist gown and fit right in with the lively, cozy energy of the night.
After dinner, Julie and Justin took their bridal portraits. They even slipped outside for portraits in the snow. String lights twinkled above as snowflakes fell softly around them, creating the perfect mix of romance and adventure.
It was the kind of scene that could only happen at The Arnold House, where rustic barns, glowing interiors, and snowy Catskills landscapes come together effortlessly.
With full bellies and happy hearts, guests hit the dance floor. Empire State Events kept the music upbeat and irresistible (the kind that makes it impossible to stay in your seat). Glow sticks lit up the room as everyone leaned into Julie and Justin’s love for “bad” dancing (the sillier, the better!).
The evening continued with laughter, music, and a packed dance floor under twinkling string lights.
Julie and Justin wanted their wedding to be fun, relaxed, and unforgettable. They cared about good music, great food, and being present with their loved ones. With us at KR Occasions making sure every detail ran smoothly, they got just that (check out what they had to say here!).
Their wedding at The Arnold House was more than an event, it was a reflection of who they are: thoughtful, joyful, and ready to laugh their way through life together. From their frog-themed sign to their custom cocktails and snowy portraits, the day was filled with personality and love.
We can’t imagine a more fitting way to celebrate two people who go with the flow, embrace the fun, and never forget to dance.
