We’ve all heard the saying “The Groom can’t see the Bride before the wedding.” This was an old 18th century practice that took place when marriages were pre-arranged. It was deemed “unlucky” for a bride and groom to see one another.
Gone are the days of pre-arranged marriages and many of my couples are stepping into more modern times and moving away from these traditions. It first began with the first look. A moment where the bride and groom could see each other in private before the wedding festivities began. Now I have seen couples take a whole new look on this by stepping away the morning of the wedding and having a private breakfast together. This gives them some quality alone time and allows them to set an intention before the big celebrations begin. So many times during the wedding festivities couples are so busy celebrating with their friends and family they don’t necessarily get to be lost in the person they love. So having a morning breakfast together is the perfect time to celebrate in private and remember why your having the wedding in the first place.
