Emma and Evan’s Audrey’s Farmhouse wedding was a cozy winter celebration filled with thoughtful details, snowy portraits, and plenty of time with their favorite people. Held at Friends and Neighbors in Stone Ridge, New York, their wedding brought together warm candlelight, natural greenery, and a relaxed atmosphere that felt true to them.

After more than eight years together, Emma and Evan wanted their wedding to feel like a celebration rather than a formal event. They pictured a comfortable setting where guests could enjoy good food, share a drink, and spend the evening dancing. With a beautiful winter landscape and a few personal touches, their vision came together in a way that felt natural and welcoming.

I’m Kayce, the owner and lead planner of KR Occasions. As a Hudson Valley wedding planner, I help couples create weddings that reflect who they are while taking care of the details behind the scenes. For Emma and Evan, I helped guide decisions during a short planning period, coordinated with vendors, created their winter floral arrangements, and managed the wedding day so they could focus on celebrating.

A Personal Winter Wedding Ceremony at Audrey’s Farmhouse

Emma and Evan exchanged vows in the wooden ceremony pavilion at Friends and Neighbors, surrounded by the quiet winter woods.

The ceremony space featured a natural wood ceiling, simple wooden chairs, and an open view of the trees beyond. Small touches of greenery lined the aisle, allowing the surrounding landscape to remain the focus.

One of the most meaningful details was their choice of officiant.

Emma and Evan met through a mutual friend more than eight years ago, and that same friend officiated their wedding. I love when couples find ways to include people who have been part of their story from the beginning.

Their ceremony didn’t need elaborate decorations or a long list of traditions. The natural setting and personal connection were enough.

For their Audrey’s Farmhouse wedding, the couple wanted everything to feel comfortable and genuine, and their ceremony was a lovely reflection of that.

Wedding Portraits in the Hudson Valley

One of the lovely things about an Audrey’s Farmhouse wedding is the variety of settings available for wedding portraits. From the natural wood details throughout Friends and Neighbors to the surrounding winter landscape, Emma and Evan had plenty of beautiful backdrops for their photos.

Photographed by HVH Foto, their portraits captured moments throughout the venue and its surrounding grounds. The warm tones of the indoor spaces complemented the snowy scenery outside, creating a beautiful mix of cozy and classic winter wedding photos.

Emma wore a sleeveless white wedding gown with a structured bodice, a V-shaped neckline, and a full, flowing skirt. Her dark hair was styled back with soft pieces framing her face and a subtle berry-colored accent.

Evan chose a dark brown suit paired with a white shirt and dark green tie, which complemented the warm winter colors of their celebration.

Together, their attire felt timeless and comfortable, fitting naturally into both the venue’s warm interiors and the snowy landscape.

During planning, Emma and Evan had also shared that they didn’t want photography to take too much time away from their guests. They preferred candid moments throughout the evening rather than spending the reception posing for photos.

A Relaxed Cocktail Hour at Friends and Neighbors

Following the ceremony, the celebration continued with cocktail hour.

Emma and Evan wanted their guests to feel comfortable and have a good time, and their bar details brought a little personality into the evening.

One of my favorite touches was their custom cocktail sign. Displayed in a gold frame, it featured a playful illustration of the couple sitting inside a cocktail glass, surrounded by their signature drink selections.

The menu included a Spicy Paloma, a Boulevardier, and an Espresso Martini.

Small votive candles added a warm glow around the display, tying the bar into the cozy winter atmosphere.

I love details like this because they give guests a glimpse into the couple’s personality (and make choosing a cocktail a little more fun!).

For this Audrey’s Farmhouse wedding, the goal was to create an experience where guests could relax and enjoy themselves without feeling like every moment needed to follow a formal tradition.

A Candlelit Winter Wedding Reception at Audrey’s Farmhouse

As the evening moved into the reception, Emma and Evan’s woodsy winter vision came together through natural textures, greenery, and warm candlelight.

The reception space at Friends and Neighbors features high ceilings with exposed beams, white paneled walls, round pendant lights, and a black-and-white checkered floor.

Long wooden tables and matching chairs brought warmth to the room, while the simple layout created a comfortable place for guests to gather.

Winter Greenery and Florals

One of my favorite parts of helping plan Emma and Evan’s Audrey’s Farmhouse wedding was putting together their floral arrangements.

They wanted a woodsy winter feel, with darker greens, berry tones, and white. They also knew they didn’t want roses incorporated into the floral design.

For the reception tables, fresh evergreen arrangements ran along the centers, with delicate white flowers tucked throughout.

White pillar candles and small glass votives were placed among the greenery, adding a soft glow across the wooden tables.

Simple white napkins, clear glassware, and natural wood finishes kept the design clean and welcoming.

I loved how the greenery brought a little of the winter landscape indoors. The arrangements worked with the venue’s natural textures while giving the reception a warm, seasonal feel.

Sometimes the most meaningful design choices are the ones that fit naturally into the space.

A Wedding Reception Centered Around Time Together

From our first conversations, Emma and Evan made it clear that they wanted to spend their reception with their guests.

They didn’t want to sit separately at a sweetheart table or spend the evening being pulled away from the celebration.

They wanted to eat, drink, dance, and enjoy the people who had come to celebrate with them.

And they also preferred fewer speeches and a relaxed flow throughout the evening.

These priorities helped shape how we approached their Audrey’s Farmhouse wedding.

Rather than building the timeline around extra formalities, we focused on giving them space to enjoy themselves.

And after the wedding, hearing how happy they were with the experience meant so much.

A Colorful Wedding Cake with a Personal Touch

Emma and Evan’s wedding cake brought a playful pop of color to their winter reception.

The rectangular cake was covered in chocolate frosting and decorated with white flowers, colorful sprinkles, and the words “Just Married.”

But the surprise was inside.

Each slice revealed bright layers of green, yellow, and red cake with chocolate-colored filling between them, inspired by Italian rainbow cookies.

It was such a fun detail to include in a celebration filled with natural winter colors.

I always love when couples bring a little personality into their wedding through the smaller details. Whether it’s a favorite dessert, a custom cocktail, or a meaningful song, those choices help make the day feel like theirs.

How KR Occasions Helped Bring Emma and Evan’s Wedding Together

Emma and Evan planned their wedding within a short time frame, which meant there were plenty of decisions to make along the way.

When we first connected, they weren’t entirely sure what they wanted their wedding to look like. They knew the feeling they wanted to create, but needed support bringing everything together.

I helped them work through decisions, stay organized, and manage the many details involved in planning and coordinating the wedding day.

Afterward, Emma and Evan shared this thoughtful review:

“Kayce helped make our wedding day perfect. From the start, she was hands on and attentive. As a couple who were not totally sure what we wanted our wedding to look like at the beginning, Kayce held our hands through some difficult decision making. She helped keep us on track through a brief but intense planning period… Kayce also did amazing work putting together our beautiful floral arrangements that were the perfect touch to our woodsy winter wedding. On the day of the wedding, Kayce made sure everything went smoothly. Everyone always says every wedding has that one thing that goes wrong, but everything went perfectly for us. Kayce is passionate about getting the day right for her clients and we’re so happy we worked with her.”

Knowing they felt supported throughout the process is exactly why I love what I do.

As a Hudson Valley wedding planner, I want couples to feel comfortable making decisions and confident that someone is looking after the details.

For Emma and Evan, that meant having the support they needed to enjoy the wedding they had worked so hard to plan.

A Cozy Winter Wedding That Felt Like Emma and Evan

Looking back on Emma and Evan’s Audrey’s Farmhouse wedding, what stands out most is how personal their celebration felt.

From their ceremony surrounded by winter trees to their snowy portraits, candlelit reception, and colorful wedding cake, every detail reflected the comfortable, welcoming atmosphere they wanted.

I loved helping them bring their ideas together and making sure they could enjoy the day with the people who mattered most.
